How do I become a member?

How long do memberships last?
Memberships are valid 365 days from the date of purchase.
How many people can I include on my membership and who is covered?
All Basic, Plus and Mission Impact Level memberships include one household: two adults or grandparents in the same household and all dependent children (age 21 and under).
Can my children visit with our nanny or another adult that is not a member?
Member children may visit with other adults not listed on the membership cards. Adults not listed on the membership card will be required to purchase admission. Mission Impact and Plus level members have the option to add a "Designated Caregiver" to their membership. Designated caregivers receive free admission when accompanied by member children.
What is a Designated Caregiver?
A designated caregiver is someone other than the two named adults listed on a Mission Impact or Plus membership that may bring the member children to Conner Prairie. i.e. Nanny, babysitter, caregiver, etc. Designated caregivers receive free admission when accompanied by member children.
Only one designated caregiver may be listed at a time and may be changed once within a membership year. The designated caregiver must show photo ID and membership card and be accompanied by member children to receive free general admission. Designated caregiver does not receive free admission to Headless Horseman.
Can I transfer my membership to someone else?
No. Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Can I purchase a gift membership for someone else?
Yes. You can purchase a gift membership here. As the purchaser, you can choose to start the membership on any day of the year; the membership will be valid for 365 days from that date. A gift membership is a great choice any time of the year.
How do members check in?
Members are currently required to reserve general admission tickets in advance of their visit. Availability at the door may be limited. Visit our Purchase Tickets page for current offerings. Members will need to sign in or register for their online account in order to reserve complimentary general admission tickets.
Upon arrival at Conner Prairie, Members will need to present their advance tickets along with a valid membership card and photo ID.
Can children use their membership for their school field trips?
Yes. Children may use their membership card for a General School Tour only. Special programs are not included. Teachers must present a photocopy of the student's membership card with payment of the School Tour.
How long will it take to receive my membership cards?
Please allow 2-3 weeks to receive your membership cards. If you would like to visit before receiving your membership cards, be sure you have registered for an online account, then visit our Purchase Tickets page to reserve your desired date/time. Upon arrival to Conner Prairie, present your advance tickets along with a photo ID.
I lost/forgot/have not received my membership card. Can I still visit Conner Prairie?
Yes. A photo ID can be shown along with your advance tickets for admission. To replace a lost card, please email email@example.com.
Can I bring guests along?
PLUS level members are allowed two guest admissions for daytime general admission only (does not include Headless Horseman). MISSON IMPACT level members are allowed two guest admissions for daytime general admission. Explorer and Conner Society members can bring guests to Headless Horseman. Cardholder must reserve tickets in advance and accompany any guests.
How do I get a refund?
A membership may be refunded if the request is made within 24 hours of the purchase. A full refund, less the value of any benefits or admission used since its purchase, will be issued within 3-5 business days. Contact Member Services at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Can daily admission be applied toward the price of a membership?
Undecided about purchasing a membership? Purchase general admission tickets and enjoy your visit. Then, apply the cost of your general admission tickets to your new membership. (Only ticket admission for persons covered under the membership type will be applied.) Family/Grandparent PLUS and Mission Impact level members may apply an additional two tickets.
How often can members visit?
Members can visit as often as they like. Advance ticket reservations are currently required.
Are memberships tax deductible?
A portion of all Mission Impact memberships (Voyager, Explorer and Conner Society) are tax deductible.
Can I let my guests use my membership card?
No. Only the two named adults and children listed on the membership receive free admission. Guests of PLUS and Mission Impact members only receive free admission when accompanied by cardholder.
Do you offer reciprocal membership discounts with other museums?
Yes. Members of Conner Prairie receive discounts on NEW memberships only at:

Indianapolis Art Center
Arthur M. Glick Jewish Community Center
Indianapolis Museum of Art
Members of the above listed organizations may receive a $5 discount on a NEW membership to Conner Prairie. Please show your member card in person to redeem.
Does my membership still cover a full year even with the COVID-19 closure?
Yes. We know our members have lost time due to our unexpected closure, and we want to reassure you that you can still enjoy a full year of visits with your membership. We have extended all memberships that were active or purchased during our closure by three months. This extension has already been applied automatically, and no action is required on your part. Although we will not be sending out new membership cards, your existing cards will still work for three months beyond the printed expiration date. We can't wait to see you again!
