A stranger in town has passed away at the Golden Eagle Inn, and the town has gathered to give him a decent burial.
August 10, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Isaiah Fairbanks arrived in the Prairietown this week, feeling tired and dizzy. Dr. Campbell was sent for and began treatment. Mr. Fairbanks was then moved to the barn by Mrs. Zimmerman. The next day Dr. Campbell diagnosed Mr. Fairbanks with the milk sickness. Unfortunately Mr. Fairbanks has died. Mr. Fairbanks was a tool salesman, selling a patent for an improved agricultural machinery. He is survived by his wife and four children who live in Ohio.
Join us to pay our respects to Mr. Fairbanks, and learn how a funeral in 1836 was different than those of today.
Funeral procession begins at 2 p.m.
