American Sign Language Tours at A Merry Prairie Holiday
December 13 and 21, 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. For guests who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing, we will be offering ASL tours. Each tour will be guided by an ASL interpreter who will communicate between guests and historical interpreters. Groups will make stops at the Golden Eagle Inn, a campfire to warm up with songs and stories with Prairietown locals, the soiree at the Campbell House, the home of the Turner family to learn about nineteenth-century African American holiday customs,…

Fun in the Forge
Fun in the Forge
At Fun in the Forge, you will have the opportunity to be a blacksmith for a day. Create simple projects such as hooks, a flint and steel firestarter (with instructions on how to use it) and a dinner bell. All tools and materials will be provided. Member Appreciation: Adventure Awaits

Play is an important process to the education philosophy at Conner Prairie where guests go beyond “doing” and experience “being.” Our opening week of Membership Appreciation events celebrate the joys of play. Express yourself through wonder and imagination whether it is indoors at Featherston Barn—we offer elements of Discovery Station and Anything Can Happen Art to promote imaginative play—or at our Ag Adventures at Estridge Family Park for children of all abilities to experience limitless outdoor play. The Tubing Hill will also be open for members to enjoy on a crisp, fall day.
Featherston Barn Play Invitations: Enjoy a space where learning and wonder are embraced through imaginative play. Inside, you will experience activities from Discovery Station and Anything Can Happen Art, including blocks and books to explore as well as play and art invitations that inspire creativity.
