Historic Baseball Game
June 10 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The 2023 Historic Baseball welcomes back the White River Base Ball Club and the Reds Hall of Fame 1869 Red Stockings for a vintage baseball game played with 1869 rules. The event will start at noon with opening festivities, featuring the singing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and the “Star Spangled Banner,” introduction of the players and the first pitch.
This year we are adding a new scoreboard to help guests keep track of the game’s progression, announcers to help explain what guests are seeing on the grounds and provide some history about our national past-time. Get the chance to collect all five of our collectible baseball cards featuring select players from the Negro Leagues and the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Kids can also enjoy activities in our new play area.
This event will have an accessible tram running between 1863 Civil War Journey and the Sunset Field.
