American Sign Language Tours at A Merry Prairie Holiday
December 13 and 21, 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. For guests who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing, we will be offering ASL tours. Each tour will be guided by an ASL interpreter who will communicate between guests and historical interpreters. Fun in the Forge
Fun in the Forge
At Fun in the Forge, you will have the opportunity to be a blacksmith for a day. Create simple projects such as hooks, a flint and steel firestarter (with instructions on how to use it) and a dinner bell. All tools and materials will be provided. Gardening for the Beginner
April 12, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Need a starting point for your garden and some helpful best practices for successful first steps? Join us in the garden for an introductory class where you learn all the basics to get your garden growing in the right direction.
Learn how to select the perfect site, test the soil, prepare the ground, and when to know that your soil is ready for planting. We will plant some seeds for you to take home and start germinating for your very own garden. Learn more about our historic classes.
This class is for individuals ages 12+. Anyone under the age of 16 must register with an adult.
Saturday, April 12: 1 p.m.–3 p.m.

About the Teacher
Michelle Evans, manager of domestic trades, has been gardening her whole life, learning from her parents, grandparents and so many others. Starting with penny packets of seeds for kids, Michelle has gone on to develop a passion for heirloom fruits, vegetables and flowers. She has been planning and working in the gardens at Conner Prairie for decades and loves to share that knowledge with others.
