Apple Butter Bandy Meatballs Recipe

What you’ll need:

Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely minced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2-3 tbsp finely minced sage

Sauce:

  • 1 1/2 cups apple butter
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tbls chili sauce
  • 2 tbls brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Mix the meatball ingredients together gently and thoroughly.
  2. Use a TBLS to portion meatballs; roll until smooth and round.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Combine all sauce ingredients to a large saucepan, stirring to a boil.
  4. Heat 2 TBLS olive oil in a large skillet and brown meatballs in batches for 5-7 minutes, turning often.
  5. Combine the meatballs and sauce; bring to a simmer; move to crock pot to keep warm.
