Shear Fun

Thanks to everyone who attended this year's Shear Fun event. 2017 details will be coming soon!

Discover the art and science of fibers this weekend through a variety of activities, demonstrations and meet-and-greets with our four-legged fiber friends like llamas and sheep.

See pictures from Shear Fun!

Meet our four-legged fiber friends as you get up close to llamas, watch sheep being sheared and see sheep dogs in action (on the half hour).

Step into nature to see how the Native Americans used natural fibers to make cordage, containers and baskets.

Learn the art of felting, carding, weaving and spinning wool, and flax your muscles as you get involved in processing raw flax into fine linen.

Take a close look to see what makes one fiber different from another and test your knowledge with a fiber matching game.

Learn a new skill as you help Mrs. Campbell piece together a new quilt.

Visit the ‘Loom Zone’ for some hands-on weaving and meet Conner Prairie’s youth spinners as they demonstrate the process of creating a custom weaving from raw wool.
