Prairie Tykes FAQ

Got questions? Let us help.

Where do we check in?
Enter through the Welcome Center and check in just inside the entrance, unless otherwise noted. Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your program begins.
May I stay with my child throughout Prairie Tykes?
An adult must accompany each child participant and remain with him/her during the program.
What if I have a younger child?
Two-year olds may attend the class with the purchase of a ticket if an older sibling is also attending.  Please keep in mind the class is designed for children ages 3-6. Siblings under the age of two are welcome to attend at no additional charge.  Our Prairie Tots classes are designed just for two year old tots accompanied by an adult.
What should we wear?
You and your child should dress for play and for the weather. We may paint, use markers or do other hands-on activities that are sometimes messy. We may also go outside, weather permitting.
Is a snack included?
Yes, so please let Guest Services know before your visit if your child has any food allergies.
How do I let you know that my child has special needs?
Conner Prairie strives to provide a quality museum experience for individuals of all abilities. If you have any special needs, please contact Guest Services to assist in your planning.
May we stay and visit the rest of Conner Prairie and Discovery Station?
Your tickets are good for Prairie Tykes admission only. If you’d like to stay and visit the rest of the museum, you may purchase general admission at the Ticket Desk or Member Desk. Conner Prairie members receive complimentary general admission and can check in at the Ticket Desk or the Member Desk to receive their admission stickers. If you’d like to become a member on the day of your visit, you may purchase a membership and enjoy free admission to the outdoor areas (when open) and Discovery Station immediately.
May I take pictures during my visit?
Still or video photography is welcomed at Conner Prairie for personal, non-commercial use only, but we cannot accommodate tripods. During your visit, you may be photographed for promotional purposes by Conner Prairie staff. If you do not wish to be photographed, please request a special sticker during check-in or at the Welcome Center Ticket Desk.
