Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Join us on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for an opportunity to learn and play. We'll have engaging activities related to non-violent protests, theater presentations and more. Enjoy a day of free admission in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Join us for a day of activities including storytelling, singing and role playing to illustrate King’s vision of what could be achieved through non-violent protests. In collaboration with Asante Children’s Theatre, we will explore the theme of non-violence through a participatory program called, 'Ain't Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around, The Power of Freedom Songs', about the history of freedom songs and how music can continue to play a role in present-day protests.

The Kids on the Block puppet troupe from the Joseph Maley Foundation will perform “Sticks and Stones”, a puppet show about how each of us can stand up for others.

See the full map of activities here.

Explore our indoor areas including Create.Connect, Discovery Station and Craft Corner—all with free admission!
