We’re hosting a Franken-spiration-stein Write-In on Saturday and Sunday, July 21 and 22.
From 11:30am to 2:45pm, we’ll provide up to 20 spooky story authors with a quiet place to write, some creepy prompts, a few writing games, and an opportunity for feedback.
There will be electric plug-in stations for computer users and some extra paper and pens, but plan to bring your own writing tools. We’ll take a short break around noon – each writer will get one free Frank(enstein)furter, just bring your own drink and sides – and, at 2:45, we’ll head out to Prairietown to join a Frankenstein discussion with the 1836 literary society!
Conner Prairie’s Prairietown residents will be discussing the book for their literary society meeting. What did people think of Shelley’s controversial novel in 1836? What issues did it raise concerning science and its impact on life and ‘sublime nature’? What does it say about free will? We invite you to share your thoughts and questions! To prepare, read Frankenstein right here.
First come, first served. Limit 20 participants. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Email email@example.com to RSVP or with any questions.
After you write your story, be sure to submit it to our Spooky Short Story Contest!
