The Millennium Broadway is where both the personal and professional flourish in style.

Destinations

Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's new American Wing—including The Charles Engelhard Court and the American period rooms—reopens this spring. After more than two years of construction and renovation, the unparalleled collections of American furniture, sculpture, stained glass, architectural elements, ceramics, glass, silver, pewter and jewelry, will again be accessible to the public. Twelve of the Met's historic interiors have been renovated, reinterpreted and now feature interactive computer touch screens offering information about the rooms and their furnishings. The opening of the galleries marks the completion of the second of three parts of a project to reconfigure, renovate and upgrade every section of The American Wing by 2011.

Tenement Museum
The heart of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum is its landmark tenement building, home to 7,000 people from 20 nations between 1863 and 1935. Visitors to the Museum tour the cramped living spaces and learn about the lives of past residents: a German Jewish family (1870s), an Eastern European Orthodox Jewish family (1918) and an Italian Catholic family (1930s).

“South Pacific” at the Lincoln Center Theater
Now in its first Broadway revival, South Pacific won seven 2008 Tony awards and has been playing to sold-out houses since the first preview in March 2008. The marvelous cast of 40 is led by Laura Osnes and 2008 Tony-winner for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, Paulo Szot. Although well known for its extraordinary score -- the songs include Some Enchanted Evening, Younger Than Springtime, Bali Ha'i, There Is Nothin' Like A Dame and A Wonderful Guy – South Pacific is also a deeply felt drama. Its portrayal of Americans stationed in an alien culture in wartime is as relevant today as when it first thrilled audiences in 1949.

New York Historical Society
"Lincoln and New York”
Abraham Lincoln—the quintessential westerner—owed much of his national political success to his impact on the eastern state of New York—and, in turn, New York's impact on him. This exhibition of original artifacts, iconic images, and hand-written period documents, many in Lincoln's own hand, will for the first time fully trace the evolution of Lincoln's relationship with the nation's largest and wealthiest state: from the time of his triumphant Cooper Union address here in 1860, to his efforts to hold the Union together in 1861, to the early challenges of recruitment and investment in the Civil War, to the development of new military technologies, and the challenge to civil liberties in time of rebellion.

This exhibition commemorates the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial. A catalog will accompany the exhibition.
