Session One
Mon. & Tues., October 13 & 14, 8 am–5 pm
Wed., October 15, 8 am–noon

Horn Work
Make a Tansel family-style horn and learn engraving techniques with instructor Art DeCamp. Includes discussion of the Tansel family, architecture and engraving styles. Tools required.

Folding Knife
Build an 18th-century-style, steel and brass folding knife. Gain skills in traditional filing, bench work and heat treating. Taught by Nathan Allen and John Weston.

Hearth Cooking
Experience 19th-century culinary arts with Conner Prairie hearth cooking experts. Using historic recipes and techniques, learn to prepare delicious period dishes.

Wed., October 15, 1–5 p.m.
Thurs. & Fri., October 16-17, 8 am–5 pm

Leather Work
Learn how to make unique hunting bags and pouches from Ken Scott. Class covers pattern development and basic leatherworking techniques, as well as one-of-a-kind antiquing methods. Tools required.

White Oak Basket Making
Create an heirloom-quality white oak basket with noted basketmaker Scott Gilbert. Learn how to properly select the tree, split and process material and weave an heirloom-quality basket.
