New Fort Hoosier helps us kick-off the outdoor season

Mother Nature might not have gotten the memo, but spring is in full swing here at Conner Prairie! We opened our outdoor grounds last week to great fanfare surrounding the new Fort Hoosier play structure inside the Treetop Outpost experience area. It started with a sneak peek for our donors on March 23, where our honored guests were climbing cargo nets, scaling walls and sending Morse code messages to folks in the treehouse.
When I’ve visited with guests, the word “awesome” has been uttered more than once when they’ve described our newest addition. Children are having a blast exploring their “wild sides,” and parents are having just as much fun. We couldn’t be happier to provide this space for our guests to immerse themselves in a place where they can interact with nature around them – and maybe even learn a little history about early communication (Morse code).
Another spring event you won’t want to miss is Breakfast with the Babies on April 21. You’re invited to spend the morning with all the new additions to our herd at Animal Encounters after enjoying a continental breakfast with all the fixins. Attendees of the special event are the only visitors who will be allowed visit our baby animals from 9:00 am-11:00 am. Sign up for this exclusive event for an up-close experience with our treasured, furry friends. I invite you to come out to see our animals, explore our grounds, and see what you can find to inspire your curiosity.
