Hoosier Riverwatch for Home School Educators
Date: Thursday, August 12, 2010
Time: 8:30am-4:30pm
Volunteer Water Quality Basic Training introduces educators and citizens to water quality monitoring standards. Any interested adult is welcome to attend, and once certified, may teach students how to monitor.
Morning: Home educators will complete the Hoosier Riverwatch stream monitoring and water quality education program. Children (age 7 and up) will attend a program presented by Conner Prairie staff that explores daily life in the 1800's with a special focus on water use and the relationships between rivers and settlements. There is a $3 fee per child payable at the workshop.
Afternoon: Adults and children will meet in the afternoon to practice water monitoring and collect macroinvertebrates.
This workshop is open to everyone but priority will be given to home school educators.
