1859 Balloon Voyage Junior Aeronaut Adventure

Fri & Sat.; 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

$10 (does not include 1859 Balloon Voyage ticket)

How about a lesson in flying Conner Prairie's tethered balloon? Learn how to read the instruments, determine weather conditions and control the balloon. Then fly alongside one of Conner Prairie's certified pilots and receive your official Junior Aeronaut certificate with wings! (Ages 3 and older). This experience is weather-dependent.

Pack the Horse's Saddle

Lenape Camp

A shipment of goods has arrived at Lenape Indian Camp's Trading Post and we need your help stocking the post and loading the (play) horse's pack saddle with furs and packages. Bring along your best knot-tying skills -securing all this cargo is not easy!

Building a New Potter's Shop

Prairietown
On-going

Help the Prairietown carpenters construct a new Potter's Shop this season using tools and techniques from 1836. Work with hand tools, hew the logs, or mortice and tenon the timbers together using augers, saws and chisels. (Activities will vary throughout the building process.) This weekend, inspect the new location for the shop and visit the carpenter's shop and chat about the plans for the project.

Taste the Past

April's theme is Six Weeks of Want. What do you eat when the cupboard is bare? The six weeks from March through mid-April were a time when most families had eaten most of the food they stored for winter. Find out what was left in the cupboard and sample a taste of homemade maple gingerbread.
