Cotton, wool
Woven by William Craig, Sr. (b. Scotland 1800-1880), Greensburg, Decatur County
Bottom and top borders depict delicate wildflowers, while the side borders have very stylized flowers. This coverlet was woven by the father of two sons who were also coverlet weavers. The Craigs typically placed their name, date, and location in the weaver's block or they used the courthouse with date, and they always oriented the block turned ninety degrees from the usual and wove borders on all four sides.
Coverlet, double weave, figured

Cotton, wool
Woven by the Gilmour brothers: William (b. Scotland 1807-?) or Joseph (b. Scotland 1805-?) or Gabriel (b. Scotland 1800-1843), Union County, Indiana
The sailing ship in the weaver's block was a trademark of these three Scottish weavers, as was the two-story Federal-style frame house, trees, and fence in the bottom border.
