Conner Prairie's Rural History Project
Conner Prairie's Rural History Project (RHP) was an effort to preserve the fast-disappearing rural heritage of Hamilton County and central Indiana through research, collectiing materials, and gathering oral histories from area residents. Conducted between 2000 and 2003, the effort was funded through a grant from the Lilly Endowment's Legacy Fund of Hamilton County and headed by Conner Prairie Historian Tim Crumrin. Nearly 200 people were interviewed, and many of those provided photos, artifacts, and research materials. Another result was the production of the documentary Harvesting the Past which appeared on PBS and received a 2003 Telly Award for Excellence.
