Launching an egg from the Egg-A-Pult

A new twist in
Country Fair this year is the
Indy Mini Maker Faire. Many of you may ask what does that have to do with Country Fair? The Indy Mini Maker Faire is a way to bridge the inventions of the past with the inventions of the present. Once electricity was once invented, engines were invented, and then many other things were invented by people experimenting with putting different things together. And that’s exactly what modern day Makers do.
Maker Faire by definition is an event created by
Make Magazine to "celebrate arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself spirit.
We have over 20 exciting Makers coming from around the Midwest to show off their creations. One of the creations we made ourselves is the Egg-A-Pult: Can you make an egg survive a 100-foot drop? Guests will be able to build some biodegradable armor for an egg from paper, cardboard, and tape, then help launch it sky-high with our enormous slingshot-cannon combination, the Egg-A-Pult!
Sounds pretty awesome huh?
Top 3 things to know about Indy Mini Maker Faire:
1. Yes, the Makers do make their own creations.
2. It will be hands-on. Expect to get involved in the activity and learn.
3. Stay on the road. You don’t want to get run over by a robot. (Just kidding, a robot will not run you over.)
See you there!
