Twelve years ago June 24th, I became a grandmother, which is pretty awesome. It’s even better when the child is your namesake and becomes one of your best friends! I want to share with you this birthday month, Emma Belsley as a guest writer. I thought she might be better at telling you about her favorite things here at Conner Prairie.

Hi, my name is Emma and I'm 11. I love to go to Conner Prairie with my family and friends. My favorite thing to do at Conner Prairie is to go to the barn and see all the animals. The barn always has cute baby animals. One time a baby goat ate a little bit of my hair. It was a really funny and weird experience. I also love to go up in the balloon. Everything looks so small, like ants to a giant. Another thing I like to do is look at the old buildings. Everything is so exciting and fascinating at Conner Prairie. It's where I want to go in all my spare time.
As the Mamaw, I’ll brag a little bit. When Emma was five she became a big sister to Ella Rose. The first thing Emma wanted to do with the new baby was take her to see Conner Prairie. So you see, it kinda runs in the family with us!
